Green Sustainable Environmental Stewardship

At HDB Marine, we take our environmental commitments seriously.  Our green efforts apply to our products and services as well as the way we conduct our business.  By using recycled and recyclable materials, we and our customers are helping to protect the environment and make a difference in the world ecology.

HDB Marine recognizes the success the Clean Marina Program has had in improving the ecology of our boating waterways and fisheries.  We applaud and appreciate the dedication and hard work of all Clean Marina Programs & Participants across the nation.  In recognition of this program, we offer a 15% discount on dock components and accessories in our E-Commerce on-line store to Designated Clean Marinas.

New Construction:  Office and Manufacturing

  • Installed Energy Efficient T5 Lighting systems known to reduce energy costs as much as 35%.
  • Installed a High Efficiency Wood Furnace for heating reducing our use of fossil fuels – use salvaged wood from demolition projects and beach clean-up.

HDB Marine is often involved in demolition of dilapidated wooden piers, docks, pilings, and other natural wood structures.

HDB Marine routinely inspects and sorts these materials for reclaim and recycling.  For example, many large natural timbers from a recently demolished 80 year old wood dock were sent to local lumber mills for reclaim and reuse.

Unsalvageable natural wood materials are collected and used in a high efficiency wood burning stove to heat our new office and aluminum manufacturing facility.

Salvaged materials (steel, aluminum, etc.) are collected and recycled appropriately.

The HDB cedar log dock is an environmentally friendly and beautiful dock.  It is constructed with standing dead timbers/logs, sustainable and recycled materials.  (Please see our video.)
